Poetry Time!

Opportunity Cost

I meant to write it right away
I knew that I'd forget
But I once again became distracted
I feel like such a twit

I had a good idea
As I so often do
But by the time I went to write it down
I found I'd flushed it down the loo

I had to choose between two choices
And one was distinctly worse
For if I had chosen to write it down
My pants would have undoubtedly burst

I chose to run to the bathroom
I had no time to grab my pen
And I could tell I had no time
I had to go right then

I hope that I can remember
The thought I thought I knew
But at least I kept my underwear clean
Yes, at least that much is true

I have no more room to finish this poem
That I so quickly wrote
But I now keep a pen in the bathroom
So that from my throne I can jot a note
